Research Assistant/Associate, Clinical Research, Research Scientist, Immunology Research
Assist and support scientific investigation to study autoimmune disease as directed in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Rheumatology and Immunology; independently conduct assigned experiments; perform a variety of molecular, cellular, and biological research techniques and procedures including PCR reactions, gel electrophoresis, assays, cell cultures and Northern and Western analysis; sort and process tissue and blood samples; test and evaluate current procedures;
perform routine procedures on lab animals; record, consolidate and assist with analysis of research results; assist in evaluating validity of data obtained from experimental procedures; summarize data for inclusion in grant proposals and manuscripts; prepare research progress reports; assist principal investigator with the preparation of publications, manuscripts, articles, posters, and abstracts; conduct library research on requested topics through current literature;
oversee and maintain accurate records of laboratory activities; assist with training of junior research staff, and undergraduate and graduate students in research methods and equipment operation; set up and operate laboratory equipment; monitor research supply, including specimens, inventory and initiate procurement requests as needed; perform additional duties as assigned.
