Archaeological Field Technicians – Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan and neighboring states projects

ASC Group, Inc., is a cultural and natural resources consulting firm headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. We have immediate openings for Archaeology Field Technicians for projects located in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, and Kentucky. These include a Phase III investigation of a major Fort Ancient village site and Phase I, II investigations of Woodland period sites in the Scioto Valley. Field technicians will be working under the supervision of a Field Supervisor and/or Principal Investigator.

Work is expected to continue through the late summer.

• Archaeological excavation (test units), feature documentation, mapping and profiling, shovel testing, surface survey, and screening for artifacts.
• Phase III investigations are primarily conducted in heated tents.

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a related field.
• Field school or archaeological field experience; prior work in Cultural Resource Management preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to produce neat, accurate field notes.

Pay starts at $20 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Per‑diem of $41 per day, lodging, and paid sick time are provided for overnight project work.

Candidate must supply personal PPE such as gloves and boots. Additional required PPE will be provided on site.
