Research Aide - RI Zhu

Overview

Part‑time Research Aide at the Center for Injury Research and Policy (CIRP) at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Supports an NIH‑funded study on cell‑phone use while driving and contributes to projects on distracted driving, drugged driving, teen driving, and child passenger safety.

• Obtains supplies and equipment needed for research projects and ensures they are in proper working condition.
• Assists in laboratory analysis and data interpretation.
• Assists in the preparation and drafting of research proposals and reports, collecting and collating supporting data.
• Organizes and maintains laboratory records.
• Maintains a clean laboratory area and equipment.
• Follows all safety protocols and procedures.

• High School graduate or current student (required).
• Two years accredited college coursework majoring in science (preferred).

Interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills to interact efficiently with various audiences.

Occasionally: Bend/twist, handle biohazard waste, chemicals/medications, climb stairs/ladder, work in cold temperatures, exposure to fumes/gases/vapors, exposure to hot temperatures, lift/carry 11‑20 lbs, push/pull 41‑60 lbs, push/pull 61‑100 lbs.

Frequently: use computer skills, lift/carry 0‑10 lbs, push/pull 0‑25 lbs, push/pull 26‑40 lbs, stand, walk.
