Researcher – Neurology, Neuroimmunology Division
The Department of Neurology, Neuroimmunology Division seeks a Researcher to conduct complex scientific investigations in a foundational biological/health science laboratory.
Responsibilities- Design, manage, and implement research projects in collaboration with the Principal Investigator.
- Plan, design, and execute advanced experiments utilizing molecular, biochemical, and specialized procedures such as PCR, gel electrophoresis, cell culture, flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, and computational analyses.
- Extract, analyze, and evaluate experimental data, develop and implement new or revised methodologies, and establish criteria, controls, and standards to achieve project goals.
- Prepare manuscripts, abstracts, and reports for publication in scientific journals and present findings at national and international conferences and workshops.
- Support grant development by drafting, editing, and critiquing proposals, identifying potential funding sources, and cultivating relationships with sponsors.
- Oversee laboratory operations, maintain equipment, negotiate and manage service contracts, and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal health and safety regulations, train staff in new methodologies, and serve as a consultant to other investigators in related expertise areas.
- Master’s Degree or equivalent experience required; or 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, or 3 years of relevant experience with a Master’s Degree.
- Considerable experience in a biological/health research capacity with strong knowledge and expertise in immunology and molecular biology.
- Experience in a progressively responsible administrative role and in planning and developing research projects is preferred.
- Successful completion of a background check is required; qualified candidates may be asked to complete a pre‑employment physical, including a drug screen.
