Researcher - CHRR

The Center for Human Resource Research (CHRR) at The Ohio State University is seeking a researcher to join our team. CHRR is an interdisciplinary center for survey research and data services that has partnered with colleges and departments within The Ohio State University, as well as local, state, national, and international organizations.

This position will be a significant leader in our research, for both internal and customer-based survey projects, and responsible for the lifecycle of complex, large-scale projects, from conceptualization to dissemination. This role requires the ability to balance technical skills with system administration and project management for research clients.

Key responsibilities include:

developing sampling strategies for survey projects using address-based random sampling; liaising with both PIs and sampling vendors to ensure the quality and reliability of sampling lists; conducting non-response and poststratification analyses and creating sampling weights based on these analyses; and coordinating data harmonization, documentation, and dissemination.

The researcher will also consult with internal and external researchers on survey design and questionnaire development; design, programming, testing, and deployment of surveys including skip patterns, preloads, implementing logic for questionnaire paths, and roster creation; creation and implementation of surveys using advanced software programs such as CHRR Survey Suite, REDCap and Voxco; manage fielding for large survey projects; and collaborate on IRB submissions and amendments.

Finally, the researcher will lead and collaborate with colleagues and customers on internal and customer-based grant and contract proposals for future survey funding, and author technical and other reports in conjunction with other CHRR team members.

Minimum education required: master's degree in a social science discipline, or the equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Additional education/experience desired:
PhD in a social science discipline with an emphasis on survey methodology preferred but not required.

Required qualifications:

a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience is required with creating and administering surveys, field monitoring, data processing, documentation, and dissemination; experience with writing briefs and reports.
