Job Title:

R&D Technician

Job Description

The R&D Technician will support scientists with daily laboratory tasks and preparation. This role involves sample preparation, weighing samples, minor lab testing, cleaning glassware, and stocking inventory in the R&D labs. The technician will follow work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and company practices, ensuring the integrity of data through accurate and timely documentation of analytical activities and results. They will also follow written analytical procedures, identify execution challenges, and support troubleshooting activities.

Responsibilities

+ Assist scientists with daily lab tasks and preparation.

+ Perform daily sample preparation and weighing.

+ Conduct minor lab testing, including pH, dilutions, and wet chemistry.

+ Clean glassware and stock inventory in the R&D labs.

+ Follow work instructions, SOPs, and company practices.

+ Accurately document analytical activities and results in a timely manner.

+ Maintain the integrity of data.

+ Identify execution challenges of analytical methods and support troubleshooting activities.

Essential Skills

+ Experience in dilutions, sample preparation, and wet chemistry.

+ Knowledge of chemistry, biochemistry, titration, pH, and viscosity.

+ Familiarity with gas chromatography.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

+ High School Diploma or Associate's degree in Science.

+ Prior lab experience or training is required.

+ Ability to work in a team environment.

+

Experience with Microsoft Office and data acquisition software is desirable.

+ Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.

+ Ability to work with supervision using scientific judgment and professional competency.

Work Environment

The team consists of Scientist I's, II's, and III's, working collaboratively to accomplish tasks, with opportunities to work independently. The lab is state-of-the-art and maintains a clean GMP environment. The dress code is business casual. The shift is Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with potential flexibility for a 7:30 or 8:00 AM start time.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
