Department:

Public Health | Division of Epidemiology The Laboratory for Environmental Exposures and Pathogens (LEEAP) seeks an hourly Researcher for temporary research support. LEEAP is lead by Dr. Robert Hood and includes several graduate and undergraduate students. We conduct epidemiological studies investigating a range of reproductive and developmental outcomes, including but not limited to fertility, maternal morbidity, fetal and infant development, pubertal development, and reproductive aging.

We primarily focus on environmental and infectious exposures and their impact on reproductive and developmental outcomes with a particular emphasis on the combined effect of these exposures.

This hourly temporary researcher position focuses on two environmental epidemiology projects with an emphasis on menopause and ovarian cancer. The researcher will be expected to work independently on in-depth literature review, advanced data analyses, and manuscript writing. Tasks will be completed with minimal guidance from the supervisor.
** This position is contingent upon funding and will end on or before two months of employment, with possibility of renewal based on continued availability of funding and performance.

Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required

Years of relevant experience required:0 years with Bachelor’s Degree2 years with Associate’s Degree, or4 years with High School Diploma

Preferred Qualifications Master’s or Doctoral Degree Familiarity with statistical software including SAS and R/RStudio

Pay Range: $19.28-$25.19/hour Salary will be based off of education, experience, internal equity, and budget allowance .FUNCTION:

Job Duties
40% - Conduct advance statistical analyses of publicly available datasets. Statistical analyses will be completed in either SAS or R/RStudio. This work will be completed with minimal direction and guidance from the supervisor.
20% - Conduct in-depth literature reviews on select topics. Literature review will be conducted utilizing common scientific search engines (Pub Med, Google Scholar etc.) and Covidence. This work will be completed with minimal assistance and direction from the supervisor.
30% - Assist with writing and revising scientific peer-reviewed manuscripts. Writing will be completed with word processing and One Drive and without the aid of AI-tools. This work will be completed with input and guidance from the supervisor.
10% - Other duties as assigned to support departmental and college work.
