Job DescriptionPost Doctoral Scholar to pursue research studying mechanisms controlling plasma membrane repair and cell death pathways during infection and inflammation under the guidance of a scientific mentor in the Department of Microbial Infection & Immunity. Designs, conducts, and evaluates research experiments; plans and executes advanced cellular biology, molecular biology, quantitative fluorescence microscopy, live‑cell imaging, and flow cytometry research techniques and procedures;
develops, adopts and implements new laboratory methods; analyzes and interprets data; writes research papers for publication; performs scientific literature searches; presents research findings at local, national, or international scientific meetings; applies for postdoctoral fellowships; assists PI with writing and submitting grant proposals to obtain extramural funding in support of research; participates in journal clubs, laboratory meetings, and department seminars and activities;
assists with training of other lab members.
MD, PhD, or MD/PhD required.
Qualifications- Ability to interact in a highly multidisciplinary environment
- Experience with cellular biology, molecular biology, quantitative fluorescence microscopy, live‑cell imaging, and flow cytometry research techniques and procedures
- Experience with animal handling and husbandry (desired)
- Successful completion of a background check; qualified candidates may be requested to complete a pre‑employment physical, including a drug screen

Term (Fixed Term) - Scheduled hours: 40 per week
- Shift: First Shift
