Floating Retail Lead Trainee – Shipping, Print & Customer Service

Job Location:

Columbus, OH

Job Type: Full-time or near full-time preferred

Position Summary

We are hiring a Floating Retail Lead Trainee for our Columbus-area retail shipping, print, and business service locations. This position is for someone who is reliable, professional, customer-focused, and capable of learning store operations beyond basic cashier duties. The right person will be trained to support daily operations, assist customers, follow store procedures, and eventually help lead shifts when ready. This is not just a “clock in and stand at the counter” job.

We need someone who takes ownership, communicates clearly, follows procedures, and can help keep the store operating correctly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist customers with shipping, returns, printing, mailbox services, and general retail transactions
  • Support more than one store location as needed
  • Learn opening and closing procedures
  • Follow daily checklists and store operating procedures
  • Handle customer questions and basic service issues professionally
  • Process transactions accurately using the POS system
  • Assist with package intake, drop-offs, Amazon/return services, and print-related orders
  • Keep the store clean, organized, and customer-ready
  • Communicate issues, customer concerns, and operational problems to management
  • Assist with training and supporting other team members once fully trained
  • Help maintain accountability during the shift
Required Qualifications
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to follow written procedures and checklists
  • Comfortable using computers, printers, POS systems, and basic office equipment
  • Ability to communicate professionally with customers and team members
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move packages as needed
  • Willingness to work at more than one store location when needed
  • Flexible availability, including some evenings or weekends
Preferred Experience
  • Retail experience
  • Customer service experience
  • Keyholder or shift lead experience
  • Shipping, print, office, banking, or administrative experience
  • Cash handling experience
  • Experience opening or closing a store
