Essential Job Functions
- Manage area sales of OMICRON products and services in the Central East Territory.
- Manage and support manufacturer representatives in the Central East Territory, including training, forecasting, and evaluation of performance.
- Participate in business development, market evaluation, sales forecasting and monitoring of customers and leads within the assigned area.
- Coordinate promotional activities such as conferences, user meetings, seminars, local exhibitions, on‑site demonstrations, and post‑sale customer training and service.
- Make recommendations for new products, service markets, and process improvements.
- Develop, maintain, and improve relationships with key accounts within the designated area.
- Summarize and report area sales status at Area Sales Manager meetings.
- Manage the quotation process with the Sales Support staff, ensuring prompt and correct pricing.
- Communicate routinely with other Area Sales Managers on competitive information, product issues, market trends, and customer perception of OMICRON products and services.
- Maintain the corporate CRM database with new contact information and conduct routine data reviews to keep information accurate and up to date.
- Coordinate use of Regional Application Specialists for technical expertise and expert‑level sales presentations.
- Record all sales activity via the CRM system in accordance with the OMICRON Sales Process.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Sales Manager – North America (East).
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of power generation, transmission, and distribution systems and associated apparatus.
- Knowledge of testing methodologies and maintenance practices for reliable power systems.
- Testing background is required.
- Excellent written, oral, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to demonstrate products on‑site with or without assistance from application engineers.
- Ability to present products, technologies, and test methodologies to technicians, engineers, supervisors, managers, and executives via telephone, email, visits, exhibits, or webinars.
- Reputable business ethics and personal character.
- Knowledge of organizational and business processes used by electric power companies, government agencies, manufacturers, and industrial consumers in the North American market.
- Goal‑oriented and teamwork‑oriented, willing to collaborate to achieve corporate, regional, and personal objectives.
- Strategic planning ability and the agility to adapt quickly to changing sales environments.
- Proficient in MS Office – especially Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Willingness to travel domestically (up to 50%) and internationally as required.
- At least 5 years’ experience in power systems, particularly in power system protection and high‑voltage apparatus.
- At least 3 years of direct sales or sales partner management experience selling testing equipment, instrumentation, or apparatus to the electric power industry.
- Participation in international, national, regional, and local conferences, exhibits, or seminars.
- Proven record of attaining revenue and product sales targets.
- Experience managing manufacturer representatives is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering; or equivalent completion of accredited electronic or electrical technical education.
- Master’s degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering is preferred.
- Must be able to see, hear, speak, and write clearly; manual dexterity required for occasional reaching and lifting of objects greater than 50 pounds; frequent sitting, occasional bending, and kneeling.
- Office environment is clean, orderly, well‑lit, and ventilated with noise levels considered low to moderate.
