Agency Channel Role Summary

Within the Agency Channel, the Relationship Consultant serves as the relationship lead for intermediary partners, with a primary focus on partner activation, enablement, and distribution growth across an established referral-based model.

Agency Channel Focus Areas
  • Intermediary Partner Activation – drives adoption and activation of assigned partners by leveraging program resources, including digital referral tools, onboarding programs, campaigns, and marketing enablement assets.
  • Distribution Growth Through Engagement Models – identifies and prioritizes opportunities to increase referral activity, quote generation, and production within intermediary relationships using performance insights, engagement data, and partner segmentation.
  • Partner Enablement & Experience – equips partners to confidently promote and integrate Nationwide Pet into their client conversations and workflows through targeted education, coaching, and simplified processes tailored to their business model.
  • Channel Segmentation & Model Flexibility – supports a range of intermediary types by adapting onboarding, communication, and activation strategies based on partner sophistication, scale, and role in the distribution ecosystem.
  • Cross‑Functional Enablement – coordinates with internal partners (Marketing, Sales Support, Operations, Digital, and Service teams) to deliver integrated solutions that improve partner experience and reduce friction in the distribution process.
Agency Channel Scope Considerations
  • Tailored engagement strategies by partner type and readiness
  • Flexible onboarding and enablement approaches
  • Consistent use of tools and resources to drive activation
  • Strong coordination across functions to enhance ease of doing business
Preferred Agency Channel Experience
  • Experience working with intermediary distribution models (agencies, networks, advisors, or referral-based sales environments)
  • Demonstrated ability to activate and grow partner relationships through structured onboarding and engagement strategies
  • Strong ability to interpret performance data and translate insights into actionable growth plans
  • Experience operating in a cross-functional, matrixed environment
  • Strong consultative, communication, and facilitation skills to influence partner behavior and adoption

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage relationships with internal/external clients and business partners, identifying business needs, service requirements, and key issues.
  • Evaluate strategies and objectives of business partners, recommend proper services and products, resolve issues, and develop and implement strategic plans.
  • Monitor overall client satisfaction, progress of ongoing work and projects, and process improvement to improve service delivery.
  • Promote and support sales and production of products through highly interactive relationships; assist in new product development and field introduction.
  • Market, promote and educate customers on products and services; coordinate benchmarking efforts and capture information for selling the business unit services.
  • Own the administration and communication of service level agreements or contract commitments with assigned client base.
  • Develop and implement plans to tackle business problems related to client business and the services/products provided.
  • Assist in defining communication channels and facilitate communication and integration of services between business unit and client; serve as point of contact for the client.
  • Conduct training on procedures, processes and services provided by business unit.
  • Initiate development and implementation of internal standards consistent with long‑range departmental objectives and acceptable corporate standards.
  • Lead and participate in special projects and task teams.
