Job Overview

Inside Sales Representatives are responsible for receiving and processing calls from commercial customers. Primary responsibilities include handling inbound calls, selling new permanent commercial trash and recycling accounts over the phone, processing service adjustments, and qualifying calls that require site visits or additional information for transfer to outside sales representatives.

This position requires strong problem‑solving skills to resolve customer inquiries and maintain positive customer relationships. Hours and responsibilities may vary by location.

Key Responsibilities
  • Generate new revenue growth by handling inbound new business calls for permanent commercial customers.
  • Negotiate effectively to retain customers considering service cancellation due to competitive offers.
  • Respond to service increases, decreases, ownership changes, and miscellaneous service adjustments affecting revenue.
  • Assist customers with billing questions and account‑related concerns.
  • Process temporary business calls when needed.
  • Complete paperwork for service placements, including credit applications, payments, short orders, delivery instructions, and related administrative tasks.
  • Maintain weekly activity reports and submit them on time.
  • Coordinate with sales and operations teams regarding leads, service follow‑ups, missed stops, and customer issues.
  • Follow company guidelines regarding communication standards, sales goals, KPIs, and response times.
  • Distribute qualified leads within the sales organization.
  • Update and secure Customer Service Agreements.
  • Support digital sales initiatives by responding promptly to inbound web and email‑generated leads.
  • Track and report on digital lead activity, including closed and transferred opportunities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Experience / Knowledge
  • General knowledge of office functions.
  • Previous experience in Inside Sales, Sales Support, Administrative Assistance, or a related field preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Effective analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office applications preferred.
  • Excellent customer service and data entry skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment, independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and complete assignments within established time frames.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
Working Conditions
  • May involve exposure to high‑traffic areas and challenging driving conditions.
  • May require travel between office locations.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, overtime, and holidays as needed.
  • Availability for emergency calls when required.
Other Requirements
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Valid driver’s license (if applicable).
  • Successful completion of pre‑employment testing.
