Position Overview

The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek a PhD or MD/PhD researcher to join the Department of Surgery, Division of Vascular Surgery. Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience.

• Conceptualize, plan, design, implement and conduct research studies; develop and write grant proposals to seek and obtain extramural funding and maintain NIH R01 or equivalent funding.
• Write and publish research in high quality peer-reviewed scientific journals; attend and make presentations of research at national and international scientific conferences and develop a national and international scholarly reputation.
• Instruct and mentor junior scientists, doctoral and postdoctoral students, medical students, residents and fellow trainees; participate in department, college and university committees and initiatives.

• PhD or MD/PhD in an applicable field.
• Postdoctoral research experience in basic science research.
• Proven ability to write scientific reports and publish in scientific, peer-reviewed journals.
• Current, active extramural grant funding (equivalent to NIH R01).
• Academic experience a plus.
• Qualified for academic appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Professor level – academic rank and salary will be commensurate with previous training and experience.
