Talent STEM are partnering with an innovative scientific organisation operating within the analytical testing and laboratory services sector to recruit a Laboratory Technician – Analytical Chemistry for their laboratory team on an initial 6 month contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate looking to begin their career within a laboratory environment. The organisation provides specialist analytical services to a diverse range of industries and offers structured training, professional development and long‑term career progression opportunities.

The role would suit somebody who has recently completed a degree in Chemistry, Forensic Science or a related scientific discipline and is looking to gain valuable hands‑on laboratory experience within a commercial setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparing samples for chemical analysis
  • Supporting laboratory testing activities in accordance with established procedures
  • Operating and maintaining laboratory instrumentation and equipment
  • Recording, reviewing and reporting analytical data accurately
  • Assisting with method development and laboratory investigations where required
  • Ensuring compliance with laboratory quality standards and procedures
  • Supporting routine laboratory housekeeping and stock control activities
  • Following health and safety procedures and maintaining a safe working environment
  • Working closely with senior scientists and laboratory personnel to support project delivery
Candidate Profile
  • A degree in Chemistry, Forensic Science or a related scientific discipline
  • Full right to work in the UK without current or future sponsorship requirements
  • A genuine interest in analytical chemistry and laboratory‑based work
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • A proactive approach and willingness to learn new techniques and processes
  • Previous laboratory experience gained through university projects, placements or industrial experience would be advantageous but is not essential

Graduates from Chemistry, Forensic Science, Pharmaceutical Science, Analytical Science, Biochemistry and related disciplines are encouraged to apply.
