Lab Support Technician

Actalent is hiring a lab assistant to join a life sciences research team renowned for providing fast, accurate solutions in discovery, safety, and efficacy. The company offers a world-class facility that meets unique technical, development, and regulatory needs This person will primarily be handling and preparing all different kinds of formulations for the lab or research studies. They will also assist the lab by packaging things up, cleaning glassware, etc.

They may handle balances, mixing techniques, stir plates, some liquid chromatography, some UV-Vis, Homogenization, and pH testing etc.

Schedule:

9x80 schedule - will work 9 days over 2 weeks (will alternate Mon-Fri, 8a-5pm and Mon-Thurs on 4x10s).

Responsibilities

+ Maintain facilities in compliance with GLP, ISO, and other regulations, including laboratory housekeeping, receiving and putting away supplies, cleaning glassware, and managing inventory.

+ Prepare and handle formulations in various vehicles.

+ Manage the shipping and receiving of supplies.

+ Prepare chemistry samples for analysis using various wet chemical techniques, adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety policies.

+ Work on routine assignments under the supervision and guidance of experienced staff.

+ Ensure proper documentation of all work following GLP guidelines.

+ Handle hazardous materials and chemicals while adhering to chemical hygiene and laboratory safety requirements.

Essential Skills

+ Experience in a laboratory environment.

+ Strong understanding of GLP and ISO regulations.

+ Proficiency in using wet chemical techniques for sample preparation.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

+ Associates or Bachelors Degree in a Scientific field such as chemistry, biochemistry, or biology. (chem preferred)

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
