Clinical Screening Coordinator (Patient/Community Outreach)
Join Us at Centricity Research!
Centricity Research is one of the largest clinical research networks in North America. We area fully centralized Integrated Research Organization (IRO) specializing in conducting Phase I-IV clinical trials in over 35 therapeutic areas: inpatient and outpatient; pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device trials.
About the role
We’re looking for a Clinical Screening Coordinator to lead patient recruitment and community outreach initiatives, ensuring the enrollment of high‑quality patients in accordance with Centricity Research recruitment guidelines.
This role is a mix of two things in equal measure: getting out into the community — planning and running outreach events (like food truck events), building relationships with local primary care offices, and generating new recruitment channels — and spending significant time on the phone, calling and following up with patients from our database and those who've expressed interest in a study.
You'll also step in for hands‑on patient screening, labs, and blood draws when needed.
This is primarily not a patient‑facing office role day‑to‑day, but you should be a flexible team player who’s comfortable jumping in wherever the site needs support.
What you’ll do
Community Outreach
- Take ownership of planning, setting up, and running community outreach events (e.g. food truck events, health fairs, community lectures) to promote Centricity Research and generate patient interest
- Brainstorm and pilot new types of outreach initiatives beyond standard events
- Build and maintain relationships with local Primary Care offices to explore referral and partnership opportunities
- Work with the Site Manager on enrollment and retention initiatives
- Problem solve and create contingency plans to optimize enrollment via recruitment initiatives
- Spend significant time on the phone (potentially several hours a day) calling patients from our existing database or those who’ve submitted interest in a study
- Obtain and maintain a computerized database of all ad callers
- Return all phone calls/email responses to interested patients within 24‑48 hours
- Complete database query reviews for study candidacy and conduct outbound calls for study interest
- Accurately complete recruitment tracking logs and all applicable clinical trial management systems
- Identify appropriate study candidacy based on knowledge of sites' recruiting and upcoming studies
- Provide study metrics regularly and ongoing feedback on recruitment initiative outcomes
- Complete Informed Consent and screening visits per study protocol and Centricity Research SOP
- Perform delegated tasks including review of demographic info, medication history, medical history, and vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, weight, height, waist measurements)
- Be open to processing labs and performing (or learning to perform) blood draws ‑ not a deal breaker if you haven’t done this before, but you shouldn’t be squeamish about it
- Complete source documents, case report forms, and data queries accurately and on time
- Assist Central Recruitment, Research Operations, and/or Investigators with other tasks as needed
You Might Be a Great Fit If You:
- Love the idea of building community relationships and running events — you’re a self‑starter who can plan an outreach event from scratch and represent the organization well in person
- Are comfortable being on the phone for a large part of your day and don’t mind high call volumes
- Communicate clearly and comfortably with patients and community partners by phone, email, and in person
- Stay organized and detail‑oriented when juggling outreach planning, documentation, and scheduling
- Are curious about clinical research and excited to learn protocols, medical terminology, and research ethics
- Feel confident with everyday computer tools (spreadsheets, databases, email) and are open to learning CTMS or EMR systems
- Bring experience from a healthcare, research, or customer‑facing role — experience as clinical research admin/coordinator is a great background for this role, since you’re already comfortable talking with patients in that setting — or…
