The Department of Neurology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking an exceptional individual for the role of Cohen Endowed Chair in Neurodegeneration Research, at the Associate or Full Professor level. This tenure track, leadership position, reporting to Dr. Benjamin Segal, MD, Chair of Neurology and Director of the Neuroscience Research Institute, offers an exciting opportunity to spearhead groundbreaking research initiatives in neurodegenerative disorders.

The successful candidate will have the resources to establish a cutting-edge research portfolio focused on various facets of neurogeneration. Potential areas of exploration include neurogenetics, electrophysiology, biomarkers, preclinical, in vitro and/or in silico models of neurodegenerative disease, neuropathology, neuropsychology, clinical trials, and Health Services Research/Epidemiology.

Our medical center boasts a thriving research community in neurodegenerative diseases and the neurobiology of aging, a large clinic population and clinical trial portfolio in Alzheimer's Disease and other dementias, Parkinson's Disease and other movement disorders, Huntington's Disease, multiple sclerosis, ALS, as well as over 30 multidisciplinary and 8 national recognized clinical centers of excellence.

The ideal Director candidate will be an international leader in research, with the following qualifications:

• Rank of Associate Professor or Professor (M.D./Ph.D., Ph.D., or M.D.), at an academic medical center;
• An active, investigator initiated research program supported by extramural grants.
• A robust, externally funded research program with a focus on neurodegenerative disorders.
• A prolific publication record and global recognition in the field.
• Proven leadership abilities in program development, mentorship, and faculty recruitment.
• A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, particularly in fostering the advancement of women, minorities, and individuals with disabilities.
