The Senior Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the security of an outpatient location and serving as an active field training officer during assigned shifts. This role maintains a secured environment for staff, physicians, patients, and visitors while supporting multiple operational areas and departments within the Medical Center.
Responsibilities- Maintain a secure environment for staff, physicians, patients, and visitors.
- Support and manage security operations across assigned shifts and multiple departments.
- Assist Department Administration and on-site property managers with management of patient property and investigation functions.
- Provide on‑going field training services for newly hired security officers, including facilitating monthly meetings to assess progress and knowledge during the probationary period.
- Patrol buildings and grounds, staff fixed security posts, and monitor entries, exits, cameras, and alarm systems.
- Respond to emergencies and maintain required levels of training and knowledge for the secured property.
- Lead after‑action incident debriefings with clinical staff and ensure impacted employees have access to emotional support resources.
- Oversee and manage patient property and valuables, investigate losses or thefts, and handle Medical Center thefts and employee accidents.
- Submit complete and accurate incident reports, including recommendations, as required.
- Work with limited supervision and perform all other security department functions as necessary.
- High school diploma or GED (preferred).
- Certification or vocational training (required).
- Associate degree in a relevant field (preferred).
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience (required); 4–6 years preferred.
- Valid Ohio driver’s license.
- Completion of a 12-month probationary period from date of employment.
- Successful completion of a psychological evaluation.
