Compensation$53,000 - $71,000
ScheduleFull-time. Monday through Friday; two 9.5-hour shifts (6:30 am - 4:00 pm) and two 11.5-hour shifts (6:30 am - 6:00 pm) with rotating days off. Non-standard hours may be required.
Responsibilities- Carry a firearm and/or TASER; maintain qualifications and training per Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission.
- Respond to medical emergencies; maintain First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
- Inspect, monitor, control, and patrol work sites, assigned locations, property, and people.
- Collaborate with Ohio State Highway Patrol assigned to the Court.
- Operate building security, badging, and access systems.
- Implement emergency procedures for building operations.
- Interact with court employees, visitors, and the general public; greet visitors, answer and direct calls.
- Routinely complete paperwork and document activities.
High school diploma required. Associate’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year experience as Court Security Officer/Bailiff or minimum 3 years progressively responsible experience in public security, military, or law enforcement.
- Previous experience with firearms, TASER, magnetometers, and X‑ray equipment is a plus.
- Completion or ability to complete TASER training and firearms certification as prescribed by the Ohio Peace Officers Training Commission; maintain training as approved.

May bend, reach, pull, push, climb ladders or stairs, kneel, squat, crawl. Must lift and carry 50–80 pounds unassisted. Stand and walk up to 75% of shift. Must climb stairs daily. Requires accurate color and depth perception, near and far vision. Must operate TASER and/or firearm.
Travel RequirementsValid driver’s license required; occasional travel may be required.
Special RequirementsWill carry a firearm and/or TASER at all times while on duty.

This is a non-exempt unclassified position reporting to the Court Security Manager. Salary range: $53,000 – $71,000.
