OverviewThe role is for a Mechanical Critical Facility Technician responsible for maintaining and repairing complex mechanical systems in data centers, hospitals and manufacturing plants.
Clearance RequirementApplicants may be subject to a government security investigation. Must be U.S. Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
License / Certification- Journeyman HVAC or similar mechanics certification
- EPA 608 Certification
- Operate, maintain and repair complex heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, including chillers, boilers, CRAC/CRAH units and air handling units.
- Install, maintain and repair minor plumbing systems: pumps, valves and piping.
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Monitor and control environmental systems via BMS platforms such as Niagara Tridium, Siemens or Johnson Controls.
- Read and interpret mechanical, plumbing and electrical diagrams to perform maintenance and repairs.
- Use CMMS software to track and document work orders, repairs and maintenance activities.
- High school diploma, GED or greater.
- 6+ years of work experience, including 3+ years in a critical facility operation (data center, hospital, etc.).
- Experience with chillers greater than 300 tons, boilers or other major mechanical equipment.
- Journeyman HVAC or similar mechanic certification.
- EPA 608 Certification.
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
- Lift, carry, and move objects up to 50 pounds; demonstrate physical strength and stamina.
- Work at heights up to 60 feet and operate scaffolds, ladders and aerial lifts.
- Perform tasks such as walking, climbing, lifting, squatting, crawling, kneeling, pushing, pulling and reaching overhead.
- Good vision (corrected if necessary) and hearing; communicate in English.
- Recognize signs of a malfunction and report potential problems accurately.
- Apply general rules to specific situations to produce logical conclusions.
- Detail orientation: see detail at close range and listen to understand information presented verbally.
