A Mechanical Critical Facility Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing the complex mechanical systems in data centers, hospitals, and manufacturing plants. This role requires a strong background in HVAC and other mechanical equipment, along with mission‑critical experience and relevant certifications.
- Proficient in the operation, maintenance, and repair of complex heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, including chillers, boilers, CRAC/CRAH units, and air handling units.
- Ability to install, maintain, and repair minor plumbing systems, including pumps, valves, and piping.
- Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems for troubleshooting and repairing mechanical equipment.
- Knowledge of BMS platforms such as Niagara Tridium, Siemens, or Johnson Controls for monitoring and controlling environmental systems.
- Able to read and interpret mechanical, plumbing, and electrical diagrams for maintenance and repairs.
- Proficiency with CMMS software for tracking and documenting work orders, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- High school diploma, GED, or greater.
- 6+ years of work experience, including 3+ years of direct experience in a critical facility operation such as a data center or hospital.
- Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information;
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. - Experience with chillers greater than 300 tons, boilers, or other significant mechanical experience.
- Journeyman or HVAC Certification.
- EPA 608 Certification.

- The position requires the ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Candidates must demonstrate physical strength and stamina, proper lifting techniques, and safety protocols.
- Relocate a 12‑foot stepladder without assistance.
- Work at heights up to 60 feet and climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and ladders.
- Walk, climb, lift, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and reach overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
- Possess good vision (may be corrected), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
- Use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
- Recognize when something is wrong or likely to go wrong; does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing the issue.
- Apply general rules to specific problems to produce sensible answers.
- Combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (including finding relationships among seemingly unrelated events).
- See details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
