Equipment Maintenance Lead

Ahlum & Arbor is seeking an Equipment Maintenance Lead to support our mechanics and keep our equipment safe, reliable, and ready to work. This is a hands‑on role for a well‑rounded, organized problem solver who enjoys troubleshooting, working with others, and sharing knowledge.

• Perform basic to intermediate repairs on trucks, chippers, stump grinders, and other arborist equipment
• Work collaboratively with shop mechanics at both Columbus branches on more complex repairs
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
• Handle basic wiring and diagnostics
• Operate equipment to test and verify repairs
• Help train and support other mechanics
• Coordinate with outside vendors as needed
• Complete and manage digital work orders and maintenance paperwork
• Keep shop spaces safe, organized, and efficient

Required Skills

• Broad mechanical experience with strong troubleshooting skills
• Basic electrical and wiring knowledge
• Computer‑savvy and comfortable with digital documentation
• Reliable and punctual — on time and prepared every day
• Organized, detail‑oriented, and consistent with paperwork
• Team‑oriented mindset with a focus on safety and quality

Nice to Have (Not Required)

• Experience with chainsaws and small engines
• Welding or light fabrication experience
• CDL Class A License

$25 – $32 hourly
