Your challengeReporting to the General Manager, the Refrigeration Mechanic will act as a technically trained and experienced individual with an exceptional hands‑on skill set to work with the existing highly qualified team in areas of installation, maintenance, and repair HVAC systems. The incumbent will also make sure air quality systems are in good working condition while meeting the system design intended and customer’s expectations.
Mainresponsibilities
- Works closely with other teams such as Automation and/or HVAC‑R projects teams to install and start‑up various HVAC‑R systems.
- Diagnose and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC‑R) systems promptly, accurately and efficiently. This includes electrical, mechanical, and electronic components.
- Perform regular preventative maintenance, as well as identify maintenance risks on equipment.
- Clean, adjust and repair systems, and perform warranty services.
- Continually enforce safety to the highest standards, compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and maintain security and accountability of company‑issued and procured assets by recording use, wear, and conditions.
- Comply with service standards, work instructions, equipment manuals and specifications, and customers’ requirements.
- Assist with customers’ queries.
- Complete service log and field reports with sufficient details promptly.
- Maintain effective communications with customers and ISS team.

- HVAC Master license & Universal EPA Certification
- 5 years+ of experience in shipbuilding industry, residential HVAC or industrial chillers
- Ability to read and interpret HVAC‑R equipment drawing and system diagrams
- Knowledge of electrical systems, and refrigeration principles
- Computer literate including Microsoft Office Suite;
Word and Excel - Ability to communicate effectively with clients and end users
- Effective at multitasking and problem solving
- Excellent English oral and written communication skills
- Must be willing and able to travel up to 60%
This role will require travel to different worksites in the United States. It can be based out of any of the following locations:
- Mobile (AL)
- Columbus (OH)
- North Carolina
- Detroit – Ann Arbor (MI)
