Position: Field Asphalt Plant Tech – Central Ohio (1st Shift)

Job Description:

Summary:

The individual will be working at various asphalt plants and terminals in the Central Ohio region, supporting production of hot-mix asphalt through plant upgrades, maintenance and repairs.

Working environment is a combination of indoor and outdoor.
** This role will be 1st shift with the potential for nights and weekends.
** Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Work both supervised and unsupervised

Perform tasks in a timely manner

Work both efficiently and safely while adhering to applicable OSHA/MSHA guidelines

Must value his and other team members’ safety as the number 1 priority

Work in various environments

Operate company equipment

Submit necessary paperwork as needed

Complete necessary training as prescribed by the company

Get along with others and represent the company in a positive manner

Follow direction of supervisors and other project team members

Willing to fill in, when needed, to perform other duties at the Asphalt Plant (Ground Man or Loader Man)

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Must have knowledge of Asphalt Plant Operations Ability to work nights and weekends

Must have cutting and welding experience (Mig, Tig & Stick) and be able to pass certification

Must have mechanical knowledge

Ability to interpret drawings, welding symbols & specifications

Crane rigging and signaling certification

Able to work in confined spaces.

Lockout tagout experience and/or certification

Class B CDLAble to operate manlifts and work in elevated areas

Possess a clean driving record

Must be able to pass drug and alcohol screenings on demand

Must be able to work alone or with large groups of team members

Able to work in all environments. Wind, rain, snow, heat, cold, loud areas, etc.

Able to lift 75 lbsAble to climb ladders and work at various heights up to 135’Able to solve problems
