General Job Description
We are seeking a motivated Electrical Intern to work alongside licensed electricians on residential electrical projects throughout the Columbus, Ohio area. This internship offers valuable hands‑on experience in residential electrical systems and is ideal for students or individuals pursuing a career as a residential electrician.
As an Electrical Intern you will assist with installations, repairs, remodeling projects, and service calls while learning industry best practices, safety standards, and residential electrical procedures in a real‑world environment.
Responsibilities- Assist licensed electricians with residential electrical installations, repairs, and upgrades.
- Support wiring of new homes, remodels, and residential service calls.
- Help install outlets, switches, lighting fixtures, ceiling fans, and electrical panels.
- Assist with conduit installation, cable pulling, and device trimming.
- Troubleshoot basic residential electrical issues under supervision.
- Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines.
- Maintain tools, materials, and a clean, organized job site.
- Learn to read and interpret residential electrical layouts and diagrams.
- Communicate professionally with team members and homeowners when needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Enrolled in or recently completed an electrical, technical, or trade school program (preferred).
- Strong interest in residential electrical work and skilled trades.
- Basic understanding of electrical tools, materials, and safety practices.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.
- Must pass a background screening and have a clean driving record.
- Reliable transportation to residential job sites throughout the Columbus, OH area.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including standing, bending, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
- Comfortable working in residential construction and remodeling environments, both indoors and outdoors, in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools while following OSHA and company safety standards.
- Exposure to dust, noise, electrical systems, and active job sites.
