Fairborn Equipment is a regional company dedicated to servicing and repairing commercial and industrial doors and loading dock equipment. We are seeking a full‑time Dock & Door Service Technician to join our team. In this role you will travel to customer sites to diagnose and repair dock levelers, overhead doors, and related equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Use safe work practices and appropriate PPE during all job duties.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on dock levelers and overhead doors.
- Read electrical voltages and diagnose electrical problems.
- Perform routine maintenance such as greasing, adjustments, and inspections.
- Log work notes and parts used on company‑provided iPad tablets.
- Operate extension ladders, scissor lifts, and other power tools.
- Work independently or in small teams as required.
- Participate in an on‑call rotation for after‑hours service needs.
- Identify additional repair or replacement opportunities and communicate with sales staff.
- Physical requirements:
standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling; infrequent sitting. - Must lift or exert force up to 50 lb or greater and be on feet for the entire shift.
- Work may occur in wet, humid, extreme cold, or extreme heat conditions.
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical, electrical, or welding industries.
- Clean driving record and valid driver’s license.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Pass a drug screen and background check.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Construction or electrical background is a plus.
- Excellent customer‑service and communication skills.
- Basic math, time‑management, and ethical conduct.
Pay: $18.00 – $22.00 per hour (based on experience). Additional benefits include 401(k) matching, health, vision, and dental insurance, life insurance, paid time off, and a company van and uniform.
ScheduleMonday – Friday, day shift. Overtime and on‑call duties are available.
LocationWe operate in the Greater Cincinnati area, with assignments in Levittown, Columbus, and Lebanon, OH.
