This technician supports the installation, maintenance and servicing of heating, ventilating and air‑conditioning systems for commercial customers.
Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To- Perform on‑site preventative maintenance, routine repair and calibration after installation.
- Handle basic, non‑complex products and problems, referring more complex issues to higher‑level technicians.
- Use experience and technical skills to determine service requirements during preventive maintenance and system operations.
- Advise the manager of preventive maintenance inspections performed and corrective actions required.
- Work in a team‑based environment, sharing information and workload while ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Adhere to daily safety measures at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Possibly work overtime and weekends as required.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- 2 to 6 years of hands‑on commercial HVAC experience.
- EPA Certification – Type I & Type II or Universal required.
- Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
- Technical aptitude to maintain, service and troubleshoot equipment.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Good electrical and mechanical diagnostic skills.
- Ability to complete repairs and required paperwork.
- Ability to work independently and self‑schedule.
- Self‑motivated to complete assigned tasks within time constraints.
- Driven to succeed and able to work with minimal supervision.
- NATE certification a plus.
- Availability for weekend and night work occasionally.
- Travel may be required occasionally.
- Must be able to safely bring tools/equipment onto rooftops, typically via fixed or extension ladders.
- Work at heights and load/unload tools from the work van.
- Lifting up to 75 lbs occasionally; up to 25 lbs overhead; pushing/pulling wheeled carts up to 150 lbs.
- Climb ladders to roof height and perform repetitive overhead reach.
- Manual tandem lifting load up to 125 lbs.
This is an hourly non‑exempt role. Salary range: $39,000–$77,000 annually, varying by geography, tenure, performance, skills, education and experience. Employees are not eligible for a bonus but earn overtime for hours over 40 per week.
