Mechanic - Building Operations & Maintenance

Overview

Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance is required by hospital policy. Must pass a motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications and training set forth by Nationwide Children’s Hospital and maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.

The Mechanic maintains, repairs, and monitors equipment operation and utility services to the Hospital complex.

• Inspect and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic malfunctions in equipment.
• Repair and maintain equipment by replacing or repairing defective parts, adjusting functional parts, and lubricating equipment.
• Test equipment performance and ensure it meets manufacturer specifications.
• Record maintenance and repair work performed on equipment.
• Operate equipment to detect malfunctions and verify that repairs have been completed satisfactorily.
• Clean and maintain work area and tools.

High School Diploma or equivalent, required.

• Ability to learn and adjust the Building Automation system.

Two years of related experience in one or more skilled crafts, required.
