Position Overview
We are currently seeking a Seasoned Commercial HVAC Technician to join our fast‑growing team in Columbus, OH. The ideal candidate will have a can‑do attitude, strong problem‑solving skills, and an active EPA Certification.

- Diagnose problems and failures in heating/air conditioning systems, refrigeration systems, and food service equipment to identify repair or replacement needs.
- Perform maintenance, install new units, or replace parts of existing units according to specifications of 15 tons or more.
- Maintain larger preventive maintenance contracts with more than 5 units.
- Repair or replace defective parts in units and equipment and their controls.
- Service and troubleshoot mini‑splits and/or replace smaller RTUs and mini‑splits for 15 tons or less.
- Communicate with Dispatch to ensure completion of scheduled jobs.
- Maintain preventative maintenance schedules and procedures for customers.
- Provide elite customer service to every customer encountered.
- Continual learning and development through First Call Academy to set the bar for skill level in the industry.
- Maintain elite level of customer service to reinforce First Call as the customer’s first choice for HVAC needs.
This position reports to the local Service Manager and is responsible for engaging with the service team and all of our customers.
Qualifications- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Active EPA Certification.
- 5+ years of experience in a commercial HVAC setting.
- OSHA 10 Certification.
- Manufacturer Certification is preferred.
- Availability for flexible hours and on‑call shifts as needed.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write concise correspondence; effectively communicate with customers by checking in and out; explain problems and resolutions in customer‑friendly terms; communicate issues, concerns, and updates with account managers.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure; compute rate, ratio, and percent; draw and interpret graphs.
Reasoning AbilityApply common sense to carry out written, oral, or diagram instructions; address problems with multiple concrete variables; prioritize tasks; lead and teach helpers and technicians.
Physical DemandsRelied on hands; frequent standing, walking, and sitting; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed; lift or move up to 50 pounds; require clear vision across various visual aspects.
