Job Overview
Crane Payment Innovations (CPI) designs and manufactures payment technologies that power everyday transactions worldwide. We are looking for a full-time Field Service Technician I to service equipment throughout the Columbus area.
Responsibilities- Service, upgrade and perform preventative maintenance on company electromechanical equipment.
- Travel by vehicle daily to client sites (90%) with occasional overnight travel (10%).
- Work with branch employees to satisfy client needs.
- Address customer service requests within the specified contract response time.
- Provide extended hours coverage and on‑call duty when required.
- Maintain a balanced vehicle parts inventory.
- Keep the company issued vehicle clean and schedule regular maintenance.
- Safeguard company assets such as tablet computers and mobile phones.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- At least 1 year of experience in a technical/field service role or a related technical profession.
- Strong electromechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a customer‑first attitude.
- Ability to gain access to highly secured environments; occupational licenses may be required depending on territory/account.
- Proficiency with iOS, MS Office, and Windows OS.
- Self‑motivated, goal‑oriented, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to meeting project deadlines.
- Periodic travel to corporate training in Mt. Prospect, IL.
- Lift, push, or carry at least 50 pounds.
- Perform kneeling, bending, twisting, lifting, and squatting up to 60% of the time.
- Use hand and wrist dexterity for tools and parts assembly.
- Spend up to 10% of time for phone or desk work.
- Stand for long periods, up to 75% of the time.
- High energy and comfortable handling multifaceted projects.
- Strong influencing, analytical, and problem‑solving skills with fast‑paced multitasking ability.
- Credibility, decisive decision‑making, and alignment with organizational priorities.
- Results‑oriented, people‑focused, with sound judgment.
- Team player capable of working in a matrix organization.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Competitive salaries: $25.00 to $27.00 per hour plus overtime.
