Position Description
Mid‑Level Diesel Technician – Columbus, Ohio
Benefits- Hourly Pay: $26.50 per hour
- Certification Bonus up to $700 for new ASE Certification
- Quarterly Bonus up to $500
- Sign‑On Bonus $1250 at 30 days and $1250 at 90 days
- Schedule:
Monday–Friday, weekends off;
Second shift 3:00 pm–11:30 pm - Medical, Dental, Vision after 30 days
- 80 hours PTO first year, starting Day 1

- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
- Carry out standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections
- Perform preventive maintenance
- Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer
- Identify root cause of failures and repair as needed
- Replace defective components as instructed
- Maintain facility cleanliness and safety
- Communicate with customers/drivers to determine complaint nature
- Use shop management system and electronic documentation
- Follow federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)
- Support operations as required (e.g., Service Island support)
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Vocational or technical certification; post‑secondary degree or technical certifications preferred
- Basic tools proficiency required
- Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines such as routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work)
- Two (2) years or more of classroom training and work experience in required field preferred
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A preferred
- Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
- Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, and background check
Some positions require additional screening, including employment and education verification, motor vehicle records check, road test, or badge/background requirements specific to the customer.
