Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the successful installation and maintenance of on‑site nitrogen generation plants and bulk medical or industrial gas systems in a safe and operationally effective manner, in alignment with all applicable codes and Airgas policies.
  • Collaborate on installation and care of nitrogen on‑site generation equipment.
  • Support cryogenic bulk installations at Airgas facilities and customer sites.
  • Restore and optimize pressure‑reduction equipment associated with bulk delivery systems.
  • Evaluate and perform general improvements to electrical systems associated with N₂ generation and cryogenic installations, including motor controls, relays, low‑pressure, high‑pressure, and liquid‑level alarm systems.
  • Coordinate placement of decals and warning signs to properly identify hazards, warnings, ownership, operational settings, and emergency contacts.
  • Perform installation of piping systems in alignment with company SOPs.
  • Conduct site surveys to foster compliance with federal, state, provincial, and local codes.
  • Enhance security of fencing to protect installations from tampering or unauthorized entry.
  • Execute periodic preventative maintenance tasks on N₂ generation equipment based on the PM schedule to ensure long‑term reliability.
  • Conduct annual evaluations of all bulk installation sites to support their condition and correct operation.
  • Champion safety policies and procedures to ensure everyone returns home safely.
  • Maintain an appropriate stock of recommended parts necessary to support typical installations within the assigned customer base.
  • Assist the team in other areas as needed.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certified Brazer Certificate (must obtain within 30 days of employment).
  • Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • HVAC or refrigeration certification or American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE).
  • Medical gas credentials.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of industrial field service experience, preferably in gas generation systems.
  • Prior electrical experience.
  • Detailed understanding of NFPA 99 and NFPA 55 requirements.
  • Knowledge of cryogenic and high‑pressure gas hazards.
  • Hands‑on experience with cryogenic equipment, pressure piping, compressors.
  • Knowledge of welding and brazing processes (specifically silver brazing).
  • Ability to perform regulator repairs, pipe repairs, and leak repairs.
  • Availability to respond to emergencies 24 hours per day.
  • Ability to read blueprints, design specifications, manufacturer drawings, and architectural drawings for bulk delivery sites.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, MSDS, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Clear and effective speaking manner for explaining information to customers and employees.
  • Goal setting, time management, and multi‑tasking skills.
  • Independent judgment and initiative.
  • Self‑motivation, enthusiasm, positive attitude, and teamwork abilities.
