Position SummaryThe HVAC Foreman is responsible for leading field operations on new-build commercial and multifamily construction projects
. This position oversees HVAC installation crews, coordinates daily job site activities, manages manpower, materials, and equipment, and ensures projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with company standards and applicable mechanical codes.
- Lead and supervise HVAC field crews, apprentices, and laborers.
- Coordinate daily work activities to maintain project schedules and milestones.
- Manage manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
- Ensure quality workmanship while maintaining safety and code compliance.
- Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and project specifications.
- Install, troubleshoot, and oversee commercial HVAC systems and equipment.
- Conduct system testing, inspections, and commissioning.
- Prepare RFIs and assist with change orders when necessary.
- Attend weekly project meetings and provide progress updates.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, vendors, and other construction trades.
- Mentor and develop field employees.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and communication.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and applicable mechanical codes.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 5+ years of HVAC trade experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience successfully leading projects as an HVAC Foreman or similar supervisory role.
- Proven experience working on new-build commercial and multifamily construction projects.
- Strong leadership experience managing field crews and coordinating project activities.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and specifications.
- Strong understanding of HVAC installation practices, safety standards, and mechanical codes.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Valid driver's license.
- Journeyman HVAC License or equivalent certification.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification.
- EPA Universal Certification.
- Experience managing multiple crews and coordinating subcontractors.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, and climb throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while wearing appropriate PPE.
- Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and on active construction sites.
Candidates must successfully pass a pre‑employment drug screen and background check.
