Teltron Networks is seeking an BICSI INCF Certified Fiber Optic Technician to support an active State of Ohio fiber optic infrastructure project. The selected candidate will work as part of a three-person crew performing campus outside plant (OSP) and inside plant (ISP) fiber installations, including pulling single-mode fiber through underground conduit systems, pathway preparation, cable routing, labeling, fusion splicing support, fiber terminations, and testing.

Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and compliance with BICSI standards while working in secure government facilities. Previous experience on State of Ohio projects or other large-scale institutional, correctional, campus, fiber deployments is highly preferred. Applicants should be dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality installations while maintaining accurate project documentation and meeting project schedules.

Job Requirements
  • Current BICSI INCF (Installer 2 – Optical Fiber) certification required.
  • Experience pulling, routing, dressing, and terminating single-mode and multimode fiber.
  • Working knowledge of fusion splicing, fiber testing, OTDR, and optical loss testing.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, fiber schedules, and pathway layouts.
  • Experience working in commercial, government, institutional, or correctional facilities preferred.
  • Ability to safely work in underground conduit systems, telecommunications rooms, and elevated work areas.
  • Familiarity with ANSI/TIA, BICSI, and industry best practices for fiber optic installations.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to pass all required background checks and security clearances for State of Ohio facilities.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and teamwork.
