Temporary Exhibitions Preparator
Assist the Wexner Center for the Arts exhibitions team with museum-quality art handling related to the installation and de-installation of exhibitions. This position supports the preparation of gallery spaces and the execution of exhibition designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Move artwork (various sizes and weights) and shipping crates
- Assist with packing and unpacking artwork using museum best practices
- Hang and install artwork using appropriate tools, equipment, and systems
- Clean and prepare gallery spaces for exhibitions
- Perform patching and painting of gallery walls
- Assist with light carpentry, fabrication, and demolition work
- Support implementation of exhibition display designs
- Safely use ladders and equipment including vertical mast and scissor lifts
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- 0 years of relevant experience required
Qualifications & Requirements
- Ability to follow direction and work safely as part of a team
- Understanding of or willingness to learn museum art handling best practices
- Experience with interior painting, shop equipment, and hand tools required
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to safely work on ladders (6'–12') and personnel lifts
Position Details
This is a recurring temporary position tied to the Wexner Center's rotating exhibition schedule
Additional Information:The Targeted Hiring Range for this position is $15.15 - $19.79 per hour. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
