Temporary Exhibitions Preparator

Assist the Wexner Center for the Arts exhibitions team with museum-quality art handling related to the installation and de-installation of exhibitions. This position supports the preparation of gallery spaces and the execution of exhibition designs.

Key Responsibilities

• Move artwork (various sizes and weights) and shipping crates
• Assist with packing and unpacking artwork using museum best practices
• Hang and install artwork using appropriate tools, equipment, and systems
• Clean and prepare gallery spaces for exhibitions
• Perform patching and painting of gallery walls
• Assist with light carpentry, fabrication, and demolition work
• Support implementation of exhibition display designs
• Safely use ladders and equipment including vertical mast and scissor lifts

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED
• 0 years of relevant experience required

Qualifications & Requirements

• Ability to follow direction and work safely as part of a team
• Understanding of or willingness to learn museum art handling best practices
• Experience with interior painting, shop equipment, and hand tools required
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to safely work on ladders (6'–12') and personnel lifts

Position Details

This is a recurring temporary position tied to the Wexner Center's rotating exhibition schedule

The Targeted Hiring Range for this position is $15.15 - $19.79 per hour. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
