HVAC Finisher Technician

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Complete the final stage of HVAC installations in accordance with company requirements and manufacturer specifications.
• Install registers, grills, fans, thermostats, AC units and accessories.
• Connect system components, wire‑up, perform leak checks, and charge the system.
• Perform system start‑up and ensure proper operation of heating and cooling systems.
• Verify system performance and make final adjustments.
• Ensure all installations are clean, complete, and meet quality standards.
• Identify and resolve minor installation issues during the final phase.
• Work in an outdoor environment and adverse weather conditions.

Duties may vary by location.

• High school diploma or GED (experience may substitute for education).
• Prior HVAC installation experience.
• Ability to read installation plans and documents.
• Maintains and cleans work area upon completion.
• Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate in English effectively.
• Beginner computing skills and ability to use a computer, laptop or tablet.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to work overtime with little notice; weekend hours may occasionally be required.

• HVAC trade school certification.
• 1–2 years of experience in construction, HVAC or related fields.
• EPA Certification.

• Willingness and ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization.
• Safety mindset and acceptance of a safety culture.

Majority of work is performed at occupied residential homes and/or construction sites with minimal office time. Requires travel by vehicle to work locations and exposure to construction environments involving equipment, elevated work areas, confined spaces, noise, dust, hazardous materials, and odors. Comfortable working indoors and outdoors, exposed to all weather conditions while wearing appropriate PPE.

• Must be able to drive and operate a motorized passenger vehicle or forklift.
• Must lift/move up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Frequently performs tasks requiring climbing, bending at the waist, crawling, kneeling, crouching, and working at heights or on ladders, stairways, or platforms/scaffolding with fall protection.
• Can wear required PPE including hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, masks/respirators, reflective vests, gloves, safety toes, and construction‑grade work boots.
• Can stand, walk, or sit for long periods.
• Has sufficient hearing and vision to operate phones or equipment safely.
• Can use arms and hands to reach overhead, signal, grab, hold, lift, turn, push, and pull objects and tools.

$22–$38 per hour.
