Overview
Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance is required by hospital policy. Must pass a motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications, and training set forth by Nationwide Children’s Hospital and maintain insurance guidelines. Installs, repairs, operates, and maintains all HVAC and mechanical systems within the hospital.
Responsibilities- Installs, maintains, and repairs HVAC systems and equipment.
- Diagnoses and troubleshoots HVAC system and equipment issues.
- Tests HVAC systems and components for proper functioning.
- Cleans HVAC systems and equipment to ensure proper performance.
- Calibrates HVAC systems and equipment to manufacturer specifications.
- Keeps accurate records of all HVAC system and equipment maintenance and repairs.
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree in HVAC, facility maintenance, electro‑mechanical, or electronics preferred.
Licensure and Certifications- Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance.
- EPA Universal Certification preferred.
Five years of related trade experience; hospital facility maintenance experience desirable.
Physical Requirements- Occasionally: cold temperatures, driving motor vehicles, flexing/extending of neck, fumes/gases/vapors, hot temperatures, pushing/pulling [0‑25 lbs], [26‑40 lbs], [41‑60 lbs], [61‑100 lbs] or greater with assistance, reaching above shoulder, sitting, working outdoors.
- Frequently: audible speech, bend/twist, climb stairs/ladder, color vision, computer skills, depth perception, hand use (grasping/gripping/turning), hearing acuity, lifting/carrying [0‑10 lbs], [11‑20 lbs], [21‑40 lbs], [41‑60 lbs], [61‑100 lbs], loud noises, peripheral vision, repetitive hand/arm use, seeing – far/near, squat/kneel, walking, working at heights.
- Continuously: decision making, electricity, interpreting data, machinery, power tools, problem solving, standing.
- Additional: working on scaffolding occasionally.
