Avenue Live, a subsidiary of US Health Connect is seeking qualified candidates for an Live/Virtual Event AV Technician to support live, hybrid, and virtual event production through the preparation, setup, operation, and troubleshooting of audiovisual equipment. The Live/Virtual Event AV Technician works closely with event production teams to ensure audio, video, lighting, and related technical systems are properly prepared, tested, installed, and operated to support successful event execution.
This is a full-time, in-person position based out of our Columbus, OH warehouse and is not eligible for remote work. Travel to event locations is a core part of the role and is expected to be approximately 30–50% of the time, including overnight and multi-day trips. Travel is primarily domestic, though occasional international travel may be required. When not traveling, you will work on site at the warehouse, where you will be a technical resource for equipment preparation, quality control, and deployment.
Whata day in the life of a Live/Virtual Event AV Technician looks like:
- Prepare, scan, pack, and organize audiovisual equipment according to digital andhard-copypull sheets.
- Perform quality control (QC) checks on equipment prior to deployment to ensure proper functionality and event readiness.
- Set up, test,operate, and break down audio, video, lighting, and related event production equipment.
- Assist with the installation and configuration of audiovisual systems for live, hybrid, and virtual events.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and resolve technical equipment issues before and during events.
- Identifydamaged, malfunctioning, or missing equipment and communicate issues to the appropriate team members.
- Maintain proper organization, handling, and storage of audiovisual equipment and accessories.
- Assist with loading and unloading equipment for event deployment and return.
- Work collaboratively with technicians, production teams, and other event personnel to meet event requirements and timelines.
- Provide on-site technical support throughout event setup, execution, and breakdown as assigned.
- Maintain professionalism and composure while working in high-pressure, time-sensitive live event environments.
- Follow company procedures and safety standards when handling, installing,operating, and storing equipment.
- When not assigned to events,assist with warehouse operations, including equipment preparation, QC, organization, inventory management, and general technical support.
- Stay current on audiovisual technology, equipment, and industry best practices.
- Background or experience in audiovisual technology, technical theater, music/performing arts, event production, audio, video, lighting, or a related technical field.
- Basic understanding of electronics, networking, audiovisual systems, or other technical systems.
- Ability to set up andoperateaudio, video, lighting, and related event production equipment.
- Familiarity with virtual and hybrid event platforms and workflows, such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams,etc.andwith video switching and encoding tools such asv Mixor OBS.
- Ability to travel approximately 30–50% of the time, including overnight, weekend, and multi-day trips. Travel is primarily domestic, with occasional international travel.
