Mechanical Optimizers offers 24/7 service, from simple repairs to proactive maintenance agreements, and partners with owners, contractors, construction managers, and engineers to deliver high-quality HVAC/R system installations.
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Columbus, OH for Sheet metal Workers and Service Technicians. Team members will fabricate, install, and modify sheet metal ductwork and related components for commercial and industrial HVAC/R systems. Service Technicians will perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment. Daily tasks include reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics, using hand and power tools, ensuring work meets safety and quality standards, and collaborating with project managers and other trades.
The role also involves communicating clearly with customers and documenting work performed, materials used, and equipment conditions.
- Hands-on experience with HVAC/R systems, including installation, repair, and preventative maintenance.
- Proficiency in sheet metal fabrication, duct installation, fitting, and use of common hand and power tools.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills for diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues in HVAC/R equipment.
- Commitment to workplace safety, including proper use of PPE and adherence to OSHA and company standards.
- Reliable work habits, punctuality, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a crew.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record for travel to customer sites in the Columbus area.
- Relevant technical training, apprenticeship, or certification in HVAC/R, sheet metal, or a related trade; EPA refrigerant certification is a plus.
- Previous experience in commercial, industrial, or institutional HVAC/R environments is preferred.
