Job Description:

Purpose:

The Service Technician is an intermediate-level role for Kinetico’s commercial service division and is responsible for installation, service, preventive maintenance, and repair processes for Kinetico’s commercial customers.

Key Areas of Responsibilities:

Executes processes and procedures related to commercial products, utilizing various tools and mechanical devices. Manages the customer relationship by effectively explaining work being performed. Changes/actions all water filters, membranes, biozone bulbs, and carbon media in tanks. Installs Type A systems. Repairs Kinetico Reverse Osmosis (RO) systems, water softeners, and filter systems at customer sites. Perform troubleshooting, leak repair, component replacement, and calibrations.

Maintains a clean and safe work environment, including company vehicle, company tools, and spare parts inventory.

Reduces number of customer call-backs.

Follows procedures and accurately documents results.

Produces high quality of work and customer service.

Key Challenges and Decisions :

Exercises judgment based on previous experience, practices, and precedents to identify and solve problems.

Physical Requirements Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.

Frequent lifting of up-to 50 pounds and maneuvering up-to 100 pounds with a dolly.

Occasional lifting up-to 125 pounds.

Ability to use hand tools and work with small parts.

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Experience :

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

At least 1 year of field technician experience or relative experience required.

Valid drivers’ license and a clean driving record.

Plumbing experience and skills a plus.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and show initiative.

Strong work ethic, self-motivated, action and goal oriented.

Proven “customer-centric” focus and approach with the ability to establish and change priorities as required.

Problem solver, excellent listening and verbal skills, and exceptional customer service phone skills.

Organized and able to provide detailed follow-up and follow-through of all company processes and procedures.

Professional image, outstanding customer relations skills, and comfortable talking to customers about products.

Working knowledge of common software programs such as Word, Excel, etc.; familiarity with data entry systems a plus.

Mechanical aptitude, good analytical, problem solving, and trouble shooting skills; understanding the technology contained in the company’s products is essential.

Accurate management of data, willingness to help others and an interest in executing responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner.

Organizational Context:

The Service Technician reports to the Operations Manager, Commercial Technicians and interacts with all levels of employees within the commercial space, in addition to customers, outside supply, and service vendors.
