About the Role

At Goodwill Columbus, our team supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) as they build skills, confidence, and meaningful connections in their community. This work is about respect, dignity, and helping people live more independent, fulfilling lives. Whether you're new to this field or have experience, this role offers purpose-driven work, strong support, and the chance to make a real difference every day.

As a Training Specialist, you'll support individuals we serve as they learn job skills, practice independence, and prepare for community employment. This is a hands-on role for someone who is patient, dependable, and motivated by helping others succeed.

What You'll Do
  • Coach individuals we support on job tasks and workplace behavior in community settings
  • Teach soft skills like communication, teamwork, and professionalism
  • Provide mentoring and support to encourage independence and community inclusion
  • Follow person-centered and behavior support plans to support safety and success
  • Complete daily documentation and track progress toward employment goals
What We're Looking For
  • Compassion, reliability, and strong communication skills
  • Willingness to learn and support people with different abilities
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Valid Ohio driver's license and personal auto insurance
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
