Psychologist

Full Time, 10 month position

Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 2:55 pm

September through June

Job Description

To provide counseling services through clinical interventions and social skills lessons to students who are in need of mental health support services.

Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical interventions to support students in a school setting
  • Provide group and individual counseling to students with a focus on improving social emotional skills
  • Provide trauma informed practices to students in need
  • Assess and analyze pre and post outcomes
  • Plan, organize, and direct Project Resilience initiatives
  • Develop and facilitate Professional Development for staff, families and mental health partners
  • Provide guidance to parents to assist them in understanding and seeking assistance to address their child's emotional and social needs
  • Plan, organize and facilitate parent groups and community forums
  • Prepare monthly reports
  • Collaborate and coordinate services with other support professionals and teachers
  • Provide and organize in-services and staff development programs
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Student Life and Personnel Services
Requirements
  • Should possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Applicants must be positive, energetic, flexible and a team player that can assist in creating Project Resilience.
  • Applicants should possess patience and solid communication skills.
  • Applicants must also be highly organized, able to multitask and adjust to changes in school environments.
  • Applicants must have reliable transportation.
Qualifications
  • Master's or Dr. degree in Counseling Psychology.
  • NJ certificate as a School Psychologist or LPC.
  • Experience as a clinical counselor.
