Summary

As a partner in building brighter futures for youth and their families, your role will be to provide child welfare expertise and guidance to support the achievement of the Care Management operation and leadership. You will be responsible for managing a range of activities related to child welfare placement activities that align with The Village Network’s Mission, Vision & Values.

Essential Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for Kinship Department’s initiative to recruit and approve kinship providers; works collaboratively with program leadership to execute an efficient and highly effective kinship approval and retention process that creates an exceptional kinship provider experience and promotes child welfare best practices.
  • Serves as the point of contact for out of home care placements, provider contracts and kinship payments.
  • Consults with program staff to select placement options when out of home care is necessary; initiates the completion of placement documents and coordinates placements with kinship and agency providers.
  • In partnership with FCCS, monitors compliance for out of home providers.
  • Oversees the kinship department, including the direct supervision of kinship coordinators. Facilitates weekly case conferences and scheduled performance reviews.
  • Ensures timely completion of all kinship home studies and updates, per contractual standards.
  • Oversees system to track placement data, utilization management and placement outcomes.
  • Partners with community providers and program leadership to develop and implement retention strategies to reduce placement disruptions.
  • Assures all documentation and timelines required by the department align with ORC, OAC and contractual standards.
  • Provides support and training events for kinship providers.
  • Coordinates Holiday Wish for TVN Family Services.
  • Provides excellent internal customer service.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology or related field; MSW and licensure preferred.
