Note: This is a grant funded position through December 31, 2026, and continued employment is contingent upon the availability of grant funding.
Position SummaryThe Community Resource & Client Support Coordinator serves as a first point of contact for individuals seeking financial assistance. This position is responsible for answering and returning client phone calls, providing information and referrals to community resources, conducting basic screenings for program eligibility, and supporting clients in accessing available services. The contractor will provide compassionate, professional, and timely assistance while maintaining accurate records of client interactions.
Key Responsibilities- Answer incoming client calls and respond to voicemail messages in a timely manner.
- Conduct basic intake and needs assessments to identify client concerns and service needs.
- Provide referrals and information regarding housing, utility assistance, food resources, healthcare, employment services, transportation, and other community-based resources.
- Assist clients with completing program applications and gathering required documentation when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions and referrals.
- Follow up with clients regarding resource connections and service outcomes.
- Coordinate with program staff to ensure continuity of services.
- Maintain an up-to-date directory of community resources and partner agencies.
- Participate in team meetings and training as requested.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in social work, Human Services, Community Health, or a related field preferred.
- Experience working with vulnerable populations, community services, customer service, or case management preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and data entry systems.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of community resources and social service systems.
- Strong problem-solving and customer service skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Experience with housing, utility and food assistance, or nonprofit programs is a plus.
- Contractor rate: $25 per hour.
- Up to 25 hours per week.
- This position is classified as a Part-Time Temporary Employee and is not eligible for employee benefits.
- Ability to sit for extended periods while answering phone calls and completing documentation.
- Ability to use a computer and standard office equipment.
