Description

If so, join our supportive and caring team as a Direct Support Professional (DSP)!
Location: Rhodes Tower 30 E Broad St. Columbus, OH 43215
Schedule: Monday to Friday 3:15 pm - 11:15 pm
Hourly Wage: $18.00 an hour with a $1.50 shift differential

What You'll Do and Why it Matters:
Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in Group Employment help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities develop workplace skills, build independence, and achieve meaningful personal outcomes. Through hands-on support, coaching, and encouragement, DSPs help participants succeed both on the job and in their daily lives.
- Supporting Skill Development: You'll personalize communication and task-training approaches to match each participant's learning style and individual needs.
- Encouraging Growth & Independence: You'll help participants improve work and life skills while supporting progress toward personal goals and outcomes.
- Providing Hands-On Job Support: You'll assist participants in completing cleaning contract duties and safely using work supplies, machinery, tools, and cleaning equipment.
- Coaching for Success: You'll teach new hard and soft skills in real-world work settings while promoting confidence and independence.
- Supporting Daily Living Needs: You'll assist participants with health maintenance, personal hygiene, and other daily living activities as needed.
- Ensuring Quality & Compliance: You'll document services provided and help maintain compliance with CMS, DODD, OOD, and CARF standards.
- Creating Safe Environments: You'll help maintain a safe, healthy, and supportive work environment for everyone served.
- Making a Meaningful Impact: Every day, you'll help participants gain confidence, develop abilities, and experience greater independence and inclusion.
What Makes You a Great Fit:
- 18+ with a high school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift, bend, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
- Positive, patient, and encouraging with strong communication skills
- Comfortable teaching, coaching, and supporting individuals with diverse needs
- Ability to work independently and adapt quickly in active work environment.
- Passionate about helping others grow and succeed
- Willingness to provide hands-on support in both employment and personal care settings
- Experience supporting individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required
- Professional, dependable, and committed to making a difference every day
Requirements:
- Must submit to a BCII/FBI background check and Nurses Aid & Abuser Registry checks.
- Maintain American Red Cross or equivalent first aid and CPR certification.
- Valid State of Ohio Driver's License and insurability standards.
- Complete eight hours of training as required by The Ohio Department of Developmental upon hire.
- Must pass a drug screen
