Fairfield County’s Area 20 Workforce Development Board, responsible for overseeing workforce development activities in a five-county region, is seeking an organized, community oriented, self-starter to join our team! This individual will assist with community outreach, customer facing services, and employer support.
This role will support the Ohio Means Jobs centers in Fairfield and Pickaway Counties with Resource Room coverage. This includes greeting customers, assisting with resumes, job search activities, and unemployment issues. The work will also include engaging with major employers in the area and assisting with pre-employment assessments.
When time allows, this position will also be active in the community promoting Ohio Means Jobs services to both job seekers and employers. This will include attending community events, meeting with community groups, and facilitating workshops.
This is a temporary role running through June of 2027.
- Assist with pre‑employment testing for local employers. This includes acting as the primary point of contact for the employer(s), coordinating onsite testing with job seekers, performing job seeker evaluations,and relaying results to the employer and stakeholders.
- Act as the community liason for Ohio Means Jobs services.
- Perform outreach to local community groups in Pickaway and Fairfield counties to promote the services they offer and help connect job seekers to career services.
- Promote employer services to individual employers and community groups.
- Assist the local Ohio Means Jobs centers by providing customer assistance in the resource room.
- Experience in career development, workforce planning, and/or workforce development is preferred.
- Valid Ohio Drivers License
- Detail oriented and organized. Able to prioritize tasks, manage competing deadlines, and effectively manage time.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to produce written reports and project documentation to a high standard.
- Ability to operate a personal computer to create and edit documents using Microsoft Office software.
Works in a normal office environment where there is no discomfort due to temperature, noise, dust and the like. Travel to the Ohio Means Jobs Centers in Fairfield and Pickaway Counties is required. Driver's license required.
