The Foster Care Case Manager takes primary responsibility for implementation of the case plan, which is developed by the team under the supervision of the Foster Care Program Director and Clinical Supervisor. The Foster Care Case Manager provides support to youth in care, families of youth in care, treatment foster parents, and works closely with the Foster Care Family Counselor to support the therapeutic needs and goals of the youth in care.

The Foster Care Case Manager coordinates and links children/families with needed services available within the community and/or  Foster Care Case Manager is responsible for monitoring assigned foster homes and foster caregivers, ensuring compliance with DCY. Due to the nature of foster care-giving and due to the importance of the Foster Care Case Manager in supporting youth in care and foster caregivers, it is expected that the Foster Care Case Manager will maintain a flexible schedule which may include some evening and weekend availability.

The Foster Care Case Manager is expected to fulfill on-call duties as scheduled by the Foster Care Program Director with additional compensation provided for on-call duties.

Required Qualifications
  • bachelor’s degree in social work or human services.
  • Interpersonal skills, judgement, flexibility and commitment are essential to the position, as well as the ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver license, insurance, and the ability to use car for work, or have access to transportation for work.
  • Pass pre-employment drug screening and the ODJFS required criminal records check.
