DCY’s core hours of operation are Mon-Fri from 8:00am to 5:00pm, however, daily start/end times may vary based on operational need across DCY divisions.

Employees may begin as early as 7:00am & as late as 9:00am, based on supervisory approval. This position performs work on-site daily at DCY’s office space.

This position is grant-funded and is secured through September 30, 2027.

In this role, you provide statewide leadership and coordination for Ohio’s child focused human trafficking initiatives. You work under administrative supervision and serve as a central point of expertise, guidance, and decision making for public children services agencies and other partners involved in the protection of trafficked children and youth.

A typical week in this position involves balancing policy development, interagency collaboration, technical assistance, training, and urgent case related consultation. You routinely develop and implement statewide policies and procedures that strengthen how children services agencies identify, serve, and support trafficked minors. This includes creating guidance for local agencies on enrolling foreign national child victims into public benefits programs such as Medicaid, SNAP, and TANF.

A major part of your job involves building partnerships. You collaborate closely with the Ohio Department of Public Safety, the State Anti Trafficking Coordinator, the Department of Youth Services, local juvenile courts, and anti trafficking coalitions. You help local communities form or strengthen multidisciplinary teams, connecting child welfare agencies with trafficking specific service providers. You also serve as a liaison to the State Automated Child Welfare Information System, ensuring that human trafficking related guidance and decisions are understood and implemented consistently.

Training and technical assistance are central to your work. You develop and deliver training programs, offer train the trainer support, advise state training units, and promote best practices statewide. You help frontline caseworkers improve their ability to identify trafficking indicators, conduct appropriate screening, and respond effectively. You also assist agencies in applying specialized tools or guidelines designed to enhance their response to trafficked children and youth.

Your administrative responsibilities include scheduling and facilitating recurring and ad hoc meetings, representing the Deputy Director at events, communicating decisions and directives, and taking on routine and non routine matters in the Deputy Director’s absence. You prepare reports, presentations, visual materials, and public information as needed.
