We’re recruiting for a stable, mission‑driven technology team based in Columbus, OH. This role requires working onsite in a hybrid schedule three days per week and is best suited for a Senior Java engineer who already lives in the Columbus area and is seeking a long‑term, hands‑on technical role with real influence.
This is a technical lead position so it's not a people management role. You’ll serve as a trusted engineering resource while staying close to the code. Relocation assistance and visa sponsorship are not available for this position.
What You’ll Do- Design and build backend services using Java
- Serve as a technical point of reference for system design and complex problem solving
- Contribute to architecture decisions and coding standards
- Work with No
SQL databases supporting data-intensive systems - Collaborate with engineering and product partners in a hybrid environment
- Participate in code reviews and continuous platform improvements
- Minimum of 7 years of professional software development experience
- 5+ years of hands‑on Java development
- Experience with No
SQL technologies (Mongo
DB, Cassandra, Hadoop, or similar) - Background working with distributed backend systems
- Strong ownership mindset and follow‑through
- Preference for candidates with stable, longer-term tenure
- Formal technical education or equivalent experience
- Hybrid schedule: onsite Monday, Tuesday, plus one additional day each week
- Candidates should already be local to the Columbus, OH area
