The Data Engineer Associate on the Enterprise Data Warehouse team will work as part of a broader data engineering organization to support the planning, design, and development of business‑critical data solutions. This role will help build and maintain scalable data processes using standard software engineering best practices within a large, enterprise environment.

Detailed Description

This role is an entry level position requiring the individual to have an inquisitive nature and the aptitude to learn while actively participating in the team’s efforts to provide design recommendations tied to a long‑term strategy to integrate applications across the business. This individual must be driven and well‑organized, with strong problem‑solving skills. It is essential for the individual to be self‑motivated and tenacious, thrive in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment, and complete tasks on agreed schedules.

Responsibilities
  • Build, optimize, and support data pipelines and related data workflows.
  • Assist in data transformation efforts, including structuring, metadata, and workload management.
  • Analyze and prepare raw data for use in applications and downstream systems.
  • Help develop and maintain code that supports data engineering and application functionality.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical tasks.
  • Ensure data quality through profiling, validation, and documentation.
  • Contribute to planning, estimating work, and delivering high-quality outputs.
  • 1 year of experience in a developer or database role with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent transferable experience through coursework, internships, or work experience in lieu of participation in the Elevate Program.
Skills
  • Strong foundation in data fundamentals, including relational databases and basic big‑data concepts.
  • Solid understanding of computer science basics such as data structures, algorithms, and version control.
  • Ability to design, build, and support data pipelines, data transformations, and data workflows.
  • Ability to analyze and organize raw data while ensuring data quality, validation, and documentation.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to ask questions, clarify ambiguous requirements, and participate actively in technical discussions.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues concisely.
  • Experience with cloud‑based tools or modern data platforms (e.g., Foundry, Azure Data Factory) is a plus.
